PRactice Guidelines
I. The OSU PRSSA student-led firm, The PRactice, will be solely directed by the firm CEOs and PRSSA Faculty Advisor, Lance Holbert.
II. All interested students must apply for a position within the firm and a hard copy must be on file with the CEOs; students may apply as needed.
III. The CEOs will appoint for each campaign one student to be the account supervisor. This student will be responsible for developing tasks and ensuring an organized and focused campaign. The account supervisor must keep the CEOs informed of all aspects of the project.
IV. Each student will be expected to dedicate 5 hours per week to their respective assignment within The PRactice, and must email a brief activity log of the week, which will be provided, to their Account Supervisor each Friday by 9am, stating what they have worked on throughout the week and what they plan to work on for the upcoming week.
V. Every Friday by noon, each Account Supervisor must have emailed the CEOs a brief activity log of the week, which will be provided, stating what their team accomplished and what they are continuing to work on.
VI. If any accounts require the use of an allotted budget, all expenditures must be made by the account supervisor ONLY and must be approved in advance by the CEOs. Account Supervisors ONLY must turn in any receipts for billing, to the CEOs 48 hours after purchase. Upon obtaining receipts, the CEOs will then have 48 hours to give any receipts to the faculty advisor/PRSSA treasurer.
VII. The CEOs will keep track of all budgets with the help of the faculty advisor, PRSSA treasurer and account supervisors.
VIII. Account supervisors will meet with the CEOs briefly as needed to discuss projects, share information, seek guidance, ask questions, and solve issues/problems.
IX. The CEOs will email faculty advisor by 5pm each Friday informing him of the week’s accomplishments for each team and what they are currently working on.
X. Toward the end of each campaign, the team will have the opportunity to present at a PRSSA meeting or for a PRSSA board meeting, possibly bringing in the client to speak to all PRSSA members at that time.
