What is PRSSA?

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a pre-professional organization for students interested in careers in public relations, event planning, media relations, communications, public affairs, advertising, marketing, or online communications after graduation. We are made up of students from a variety of majors, such as communication, journalism, marketing, psychology, and English, and all years, freshmen through seniors. We also accept graduate students.

The declared purpose of PRSSA is to cultivate a favorable and mutually advantageous relationship between students and professional public relations practitioners. We connect you, the student, to PR professionals, experiences, and opportunities to help prepare you for a career after graduation.

The Ohio State University was one of the original nine schools to host a PRSSA Chapter, granted a charter on April 4, 1968. Our Chapter is known as the The Walt Seifert Chapter. Today, The Public Relations Student Society of America has more than 9,600 members in 284 universities across the country.
